The Garden of Eden: Lecia & Dean

Inspired by the story of The Garden of Eden, this sumptuous styled shoot was filled with intimacy, whimsy and drama. Featuring real-life couple Lecia and Dean, part one of the shoot was set at the historic Hotel Windsor; a Melbourne icon featuring rooms dripping with salmon pink curtains and golden chandeliers. The setting perfectly complemented the Rococo-style Van Der Kooij bridal gown, which was juxtaposed with modern styling elements including a watermelon-red flower bouquet made from bread (made by It's Eggy).

Part two of the shoot was set inside the industrial backstreets of Collingwood, Melbourne — in a courtyard oasis ('Eden'). Styled with lush greenery and florals (Soya), soft draping, industrial chrome and pops of cherry red, we created a space that complimented the history and character of Collingwood, but also felt warm and inviting; a moody hideaway under the canopies of the trees.

The curved table scape featured a live, moss centrepiece, chrome tableware and an array of colourful desserts from Raya. The ceremony setting featured a sheer backdrop which allowed the live plants and sunlight behind it to gently filter through; the seats were geometric and chrome; and the floral installations were minimalist and sculptural.

As the sun set, projections danced across the exposed-brick walls of the courtyard, and the couple morphed from ethereal to gothic.

A cinematic shoot bursting with true love, lust and desire; where old-world whimsy met modern, industrial character.
